etymology |ˌetəˈmäləjē| of this blog

In 2008 I took a combination 15 credit course of English, International studies, and Photography called whosespace, the title coming from a play-on-words from the social networking cite called myspace. The class was about immigration and the history of race and cultures in America. It absolutely changed my life.

At the end of the course, we were asked to write something to sort of synthesize our experiences and what we'd learned. I wrote a piece called 'persimmons & bamboo shoots' and for the first time in my life, I experienced how writing something can alter the course of your life.

This blog is a little about that.
